Summer with a Hint of Autumn

This is the time of year we feel a little reprieve after the challenge of August. We spend most of our time maintaining our upcoming fall crops, cleaning up summer crops, and sowing cover crop into areas being put to rest for the winter.  You will notice a reduction in crops like tomatoes and peppers and the addition of greens and roots once again. Below are some of the crops you can expect during this month:

  • baby house salad mix

  • beets

  • bok choy

  • carrots

  • cucumbers

  • eggplant

  • garlic

  • head lettuce

  • herbs

  • hot peppers

  • kale

  • onions

  • potatoes

  • scallions

  • sweet peppers

  • sweet potatoes

  • swiss chard

  • tomatoes (heirlooms, cherries, slicers)

  • winter squash

  • yellow and green summer squash
